Over four decades ago, AH of Monroe County, Inc., formerly known as AIDS Help, began its journey on a humble back porch among a group of concerned individuals. Their mission was simple: to confront the darkness of HIV and AIDS and ensure that no one faced the end alone.
What started as a compassionate response to the AIDS crisis quickly evolved into a broader commitment to helping individuals not just survive, but thrive.
Did you know?
Monroe County has 560 people currently diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, of which approximately 3/4 are receiving care.
Today, AH Monroe continues to be a beacon of hope, supporting individuals affected by HIV and AIDS while also taking on new challenges.
We are grateful for our community partners, dedicated supporters, volunteers, and staff who have played a vital role in our progress. However, there is still much work ahead.
